The existence of the Lingua Bestari aims to publish the results of linguistic research in a number of sub-fields, either microlinguistics, macrolinguistics and applied linguistics. Knowledge development, updating of data, facts, theories, methods, and approaches are the goals of this journal presence. The journal is published twice a year, namely in February and August.<br />Editors publish only those linguistic articles unpublished previously. The authenticity of the article, compliance with the theme of publications, and technical accuracy are prerequisites for receiving and publishing.</p> https://linguabestari.ipbcirebon.ac.id/index.php/linguabestari/article/view/10 ROLAND BARTHES' SEMIOTIC ANALYSIS ON NUGROS’ FILM SLEEP CALL 2024-09-06T09:15:57+00:00 Muhammad Ravi [email protected] <p><em>This research discusses the representation of sleep call activities in a Sleep Call film by Fajar Nugros, which depicts images of sleep call activities that have become a trend among Generation Z, as well as its illustrations and impact. The research aims to identify how sleep calls are portrayed in the film and compare these depictions with the views of Gen Z who engage in sleep calls. This research uses Roland Barthes's second-order signification studies. The research design uses descriptive qualitative. Data collection techniques use observation, documentation, and interviews. The analysis technique uses content analysis, then data analysis uses Roland Barthes's Second-order Signification to identify denotation meaning, connotation meaning, and myth. The results of this research are 12 data that represent sleep calls, that is the atmosphere of sleep call activities, sleep calls disturb sleep time, create a comfort zone, cause dependence, symbolize intimate relationships, as an escape from real life, and as a means of sexual activity.
